Pro Se Clinic dates and Information

The Court offers a Pro Se Clinic for people representing themselves who need assistance and advice. The Clinic is held in the evening, once a month, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 851 Andrea Drive, Farmington.

The purpose of the clinic is to give limited advice, information and assistance. It will not give complete legal help for your case. You will need to make an appointment with a lawyer for that kind of help.

Two attorneys volunteer their time to give short consultations and direction. The Child Support Enforcement Division Legal Assistant is available to assist in calculating child support worksheets. A mediator is available to discuss the mediation process for child custody issues.

Clerks keep the office open for filing of pleadings, to provide forms, and for the purchase of divorce or paternity packets.

No pre-registration for the Clinic is taken, however, services are offered on a first come, first served basis so it is best to be prompt and sign up when you first arrive.

If you will be asking for assistance with a divorce, you should bring the following:

  1. 1. Your children’s social security numbers;
  2. 2. Addresses of the places where you and all of your children have lived for the past 5 years;
  3. 3. An accurate list of all of your debts;
  4. 4. A list of all of your property valued over $250.00;
  5. 5. A copy of your credit report from www.annualcreditreport.com

The Court hopes to have some instructional videos available soon. Those videos include information for child custody mediation, domestic violence cases and juror orientation.

These are now available on the website and can be viewed on your computer. Additional videos will be offered as they become available.
