  1. Parking is free at all three locations.

  2. Some of you may not sit on a jury trial during your entire term; others may sit on more than one jury. The unpredictability of your service can be caused by scheduling changes, cancellations, weather, cases being settled, and a host of other variables. We will do our best not to burden you more than others but cannot guarantee that each of you will have an equal amount of service.

Some of those called for a particular date will be dismissed within about one to three hours. For the others, many trials end on the day they begin. A few trials last two or three days, but very few last a week or more. If the trial continues more than one day, the jurors are nearly always allowed to go their own homes at night.

TWO IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Juror panels for individual trials are selected from qualified jurors approximately one month in advance. You will receive a schedule which clearly identifies the dates for your jury duty.

Please notify the Clerks Office of any time period in which you will be unavailable for events such as vacations by calling the clerks office at 334-7848. If you have not notified us that you are going to be on vacation, out of town on business, or not available for any other reason, then you will be expected to appear for service. To avoid hardships for you and for the court, please notify us of any dates that you need to be excused from jury service as soon as you receive your schedule.

  2. Before attending court always call the Code-o-Phone for specific instructions. The Code-o-Phone number is 334-6650 for local calls and 1-800-748-1350 for long distance. Very likely you will save yourself a trip to the courthouse by checking the Code-o-Phone. This message is available 24 hours per day.
If you are subpoenaed for Magistrate Court please call:
    Farmington     326-4338
    Aztec 334-9479

FAILURE TO APPEAR OR LATENESS FOR JURY SERVICE PLACES YOU IN CONTEMPT OF COURT, therefore, it is imperative that you contact the Jury Clerk if for any reason you unable to appear. In this case, please call 334-7848 by 5:00 PM the evening BEFORE the trial.

The District Court complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is your obligation to notify the clerk of the Court at least five (5) days before the anticipated attendance of a disabled person so that appropriate accommodations can be made. Please notify the clerk at 334-7848 as to the appropriate type of accommodation which will be necessary.

If you have any further questions please call 334-7848 or 334-6151.
