Grade Court summary of requirements

HOUSE ARREST

Leave ONLY with parent or approved adult. (24-hour Supervision) Including School Lunch Hour I will behave at home and at school.All C’s or better on a report card can get you off House Arrest. (G.E.D. Students-See House Arrest Form)

ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL

Attendance is required every day and every class.  G.E.D. students must be in class a minimum of eight hours per week. 

DAILY & WEEKLY PROGRESS REPORTS

Teachers and parents are to initial assignment sheets daily.  Packet is due to be turned in every week by Friday at 5:00pm but no later than Monday at noon.  NEVER wait until the day of Grade Court to turn in your report packet.

GRADE COURT APPEARANCE

I will appear in Grade Court each month appropriately dressed.  I will be prepared to discuss my behavior at home, school, and work, as well as my school grades and attendance.

HARD WORK

All C’s or better on a second report card will qualify you to graduate from Grade Court.  A letter to the Judge at the time of graduation is required.  The letter must include why you’re  ready to get off Grade Court, your opinion of the program, advice to new students entering the program and what your future plans are.  G.E.D. students graduate when you receive your G.E.D. diploma.  You are also required to write a letter to the Judge.  

GRADE COURT SCHOLARSHIP

I will earn a full 2-year paid scholarship to San Juan College upon Graduation of Grade Court.  This scholarship will pay tuition up to 12 credit hours per semester.  Any funds remaining for the semester after tuition is covered may be used to help pay for books and supplies. 

Note:  I understand I will be required to fill out an application for the Federal Pell Grant.  In the event I am awarded the Pell, I may use these funds to help pay for any additional educational or living expenses.
